Default LS Engine Idling Issue

Finally got my car started (after 8 years of building) but it won't idle at all. I have to feather the pedal to keep it running. Also noticed my volt meter on my New Vintage gauges is only showing 8 volts when running. Fan 1 comes on in the key on position. Let's start with the idling issue first though. I do know hat PSI programmed my ECM for the wrong style MAF. Would that be causing the issue? I talked to Gary at PSI this morning and he said the car would still run like it is.

2008 6.0L short block
LS3 heads
LS3 Intake
Custom cam/springs
Stock valve train

Ok, where do I start with the idling issue?

Check the port on the drivers side of the intake just behind TB. Should be plugged

It's capped.

How does the voltage play into this? Or does it make that big of a difference?

I would 1st look for vacuum leaks and open ports on the intake. Ports on the rear for the booster etc. also check that TB and O ring are snug.

Is the MAF sensor installed?

What have you done regarding tuning for you set up?

I checked all the vacuum/PCV hoses and they're all tight. I'll check the TBthis evening. Yes, MAF is installed. PSI did a start up tune when I purchased the ECM.

I need to get a fuel pressure gauge installed. I'm sure there's probably some air in the fuel system as well.

The 8 volt thing is a problem. Where did you pick up the wire to the gauge? Is your alternator charging when it is running? What is your battery voltage running and static?

These engines use a lot of power to run everything, it might just be this simple...

T,

T,
I need to check it this evening to see if it's charging or not.

T,
I tied it into the pink 12V wire from the instrument cluster wiring.
