Default Project Poor Man

Project Poor Man is a 1972 Pontiac LeMans post coupe.

I am early in my build but slowly getting there. I bought the car a couple years ago and within owning it I blew two connecting rods and decided to build bigger and better.

The car went off to the shop for the car and motor was built while I was on deployment

The result is a 468 stroker that is streetable and still makes a respectable amount of power.
She has:

Forged Eagle Stroker Kit
Ported Aluminum KRE D-Port Heads
Port matched Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake
March Serpentine Belt Conversion
Flow Kooler Water Pump

The engine is backed by a TCI TH-400 with a 2800 stall and a Quick Performance 9 Inch rear with Eaton TruTrac Differential and 3.50 gears.

To the ground the car makes a respectable 404hp/442tq.

The stock gauges were replaced with Dakota Digital VHX gauges that are back lit with red LEDs

I'm about to install my SC&C Touring Plus Suspension package:

SPC adjustable front upper A-arms with greasable delrin bushings and offset pivots, on 4130 chrome moly cross shafts, with round, knurled steel adjuster sleeves, and Howe Precision series Xtra tall upper ball joints.
SPC tubular front lower A-arms with the Howe Precision Series tall lower ball joints installed.
A ride height adjustment kit, and a pair of SPC progressive rate jounce bumpers.
SPC Performance spring kit (F+R).
Currie Currectrac rear trailing arms - billet aluminum lowers, and adjustable tubular uppers.
Hellwig tubular sway bars - 1 1/4" front with severe duty end links, and 1 1/8" adjustable rate rear
Varishock QS2 double adjustable shocks

Open the hood of that car and the motor is like BAM!

Looks like a lot of fun!

I pulled into a car show before many got there and instantly started to give it a quick detailing. A guy and I started talking when I popped the hood he went, "wow wasn't expecting that!"

Not many people think that there's an engine like that under the hood especially since the exterior is a 20 footer.

Thanks, Mills. I'm gonna need to make my way back to Hampton Roads to get some lessons from ya.
