Default 65 biscayne

hey all,
just bought a new project car--65 biscayne, two door, car currently has a 468 big block in it. looking for some suggestions on suspension, induction, wheels, tires--any input and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. of course i'm going to be doing this car in the pro-touring style--that goes without saying......

been looking for a biscayne for six months or so and after seeing troy's at sema, was convinced that it would be my next project, much to the dismay of my other projects that will have to wait. just sold my 73 camaro PT and want a driver for the spring--so six months or so is the goal.
thanks, scott

I love those '65-68 2dr sedan B-bodies!!!

Unfortunately, there's not much available to make them handle.

Because of the size of a 65 Biscayne is kinda big,22's on the rears will look good.

This is my suggestion for wheels and tires.

Wheels SLC85 18x8 and 22x10

Tires BFG KDW2 245/45/18 and 305/40/22

IMO, 4" is way too much difference in diameters and is why Troy put 20s all the way around his Biscayne which is the baddest 66 B-Body of all time.
18s will have room all the way around them in front with a car that size and 22s will be stuffed in the rear.
Don't look at Troy's car as a difficult challenge to surpass but as a template for ideas and inspiration. Just a twist on some of his ideas with your favorite color and wheels and you can't lose!

anyone else remember Heavy Metal II, a 65 imp SS built by car craft in the early 90 ies... hotchkiss suspension and poly bushings, big swaybars and quality springs and shocks.. (airbags are not for cornercarving IMHO) add some big brakes, C5 ?? hydraboost and some big kinesis or simmilar race inspired wheels... i would stick with 18 inches to get some sidewall, you have the potential to make ALOT of power with that engine, and 22īs are for hummers and stunnas (learned a new word)

btw, there is a vid on nelson racing engines HP that shows an 66 imp with the look and stance i think you should aim for..

transmission wise... well i think i would add a 4l60e and a paddleshifter, now a days they hold up prety good under 700Hp, and if you want bulletproof then a 4l80e is the ticket
