Default looking to buy used ls1

In the market for used ls1 engine for my upcoming Chevelle project. Want to know what is a good price for one with or without the manual tranny? Im in Detroit area i really don't want to pay 500 to ship one so i would like to get one i can pick up anyone know of a reputable spot?

My plans are to build a twin turbo, i have 20 people telling me all u have to do is pistons, rods, valves and u can make a ton of hp how true is this? Can i put 10k in the engine and get 800hp on 93 with or so 15psi without having to worry about blowing my hood off? Any advice is welcome im not a guru im a newb. This is gunna be my first engine build up from scratch.

BTW i read all the posts on here sorry if im beating a dead horse....

well i know i will get flamed for saying this but that stock t56 will not survive 800 hp.. but a decent mileage 01 or 02 is about 4K with manual tranny on ebay! turbo pistons for an LS are expensive!! W2W has a set of 8:1 mahles for almost 1000 bucks, and rods are not cheap either!.. i fyou have the money i could get the turbo rotating assembly from W2W, http://www.w2wpowertrain.com/pc-69-3...plication.aspx but im sure it can be done cheaper..

Schwartz performance (link on the left side of your screen) can make you a turbo header for about 1K, Nitrorocket a user here has talked about making a run of tubular chevelle LS1 turbo headers, but they will run alittle more... but look awesome.. PM him and i am sure you guys can work somthing out..
