Thumbs up Jim's 69 camaro suspension-C5 on stock frame

I am referring to Shay Cambells old car that Jim picked up awhile back.
I never payed attention to this cars suspension and just realized the Vette UCA, LCA'S etc. I noticed the company Streetshop chassisworks did the fabrication to the front subframe. I am interested in what you guys think about this type of set-up vs. a Wayne Due? I think it is a great idea and looks very solid. I am considering giving these guys a call and seeing if they can build a kit with all the brackets needed to modify a subframe. Has anyone else done this to a stock subframe?

Jim hope you don't mind me starting a post about your car. Great looking car.

Andrew

We did a bit less radical "proof of concept" 1st Gen C-5 suspension conversion subframe with R&P 3 or 4 years ago. While the overall geometry was pretty good, some compromises were necessary here and there to adapt it to the dimensions of the stock subframe. It was a really trick looking setup though. We displayed the subframe at our booth at several shows and it always drew a crowd and a lot of questions...but no buyers. Considering we`re getting almost all of the benefits and none of the hassles (for a LOT less $$$) with our bolt on Stg.2 kit & G mod it didn`t seem worth doing except for the "gee whiz" factor so it`s currently sitting behind our fab shop under a tarp. Marcus thanks for your input. My plans are to use your stage 2 kit with my 68 camaro. I think it is pretty cool to see guys using their imaginations to create something like the C5 on a stock subframe.
