Ignore this if you read it on other forums...trying to get ideas...
Well, year six of my build is approaching rapidly, and I think it is time to get some direction and finish this car. It is a 1966 mustang fastback that needs a name. I feel the time is right, I just opened the doors to my new shop, and am pursuing my dream of building full time. I only have a few build requirements. It will be a twin turbo 5.0 running a 5 speed transmission, and will be using my prototype suspension. The rest of the chassis is in the air…suggestions!!!!
I was thinking of running a hybrid backbone frame, roll cage but wanted to consult the genius here before I started to bend up anything or take out the plasma cutter. Sheet metal needs some attention as well…possible flares and front/rear air damn? I would like to do this build like SN65 did it. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun giving input and the car turned out great because of it. So here is to the start of a saga. If you would like to see the car as it is now go to g-machine-performance.com/project.
Until next time….
sorry, I simply meant that I was thinking of running a backone frame in conjunction with a more standard cage, and unit body stiffening. these three elements comming together=hybrid
sorry for the confusion.
It is scarry how close that car is too the look that I was going for. the front will have a very similar front except with a bumper, and the rear will have the same molded features but will have a wider air splitter. great contact...thanks.
