Swapping a ls1 and t56 intoa first gen, pedals, etc?

So have a donor convertible LS1 Z28 witha T56, and am swapping the engine and tranny into a first gen (Firebid 68).

The Firebird had manual 3 speed and a Chevy engine 307 at some point which I already removed. So the car currently has the pedals for manual in place (gas pedal has a cable so that is also great). I am wondering if I should utilize the pedals from the donor as well, or use the pedals I have in place?

Use the stock pedals. but depends on the gas pedal. Post some pictures.

Thanks, gas pedal currently on first gen is the desirable one with cable (not rod style), so believe would work).

I am not sure what the clutch pedal setup will be like, I believe the one on the 67 is normally mounted pivoting from the side of the engine through a bracket, I believe no clutch master cylinders on the first gens), not sure how people have modified their setup to work with the clutch Master Cylinder?

Just use the one you have. You will probably have to adjust the cable though as the lengths and routing will not be the same.

You will need a firewall bracket for the clutch like this one:

If you use the stock pedals with bracket listed above, you will also need a shorter clutch master rod available from speedtech. Old rod end is removed from 4th gen master & new one is put on in place of it & welded. Only other thing you will likely need to do if using all 4th gen hydraulics is make a pedal stop. The pedal will not go all the way to the floor, so travel will need to be limited to avoid damaging the master. I'll see if I can find the part # for the speedtech rod.
