Default Gear ratio for ls1 6 speed, whats everyone using

I Have 3.73 in my 10 bolt and I know that I'm going to update to a 12 bolt or a 9 inch eventually. I've always had 4.11 or 4.30's in my 4th gen.

My plans for the car are to run mid 11's on 17" drag radial, and still have the driviablity to go on the power tour.

most of the 4th gen guys like 4.10, if unsure go 9 inch as its a whole lot easier to set up a differential then a 12 bolt, cheaper too as you can find so many 3rd members used.

3.89 I will probably go to a 4.10 once my current pumpkin wears out. I got a great deal on a take out so the aluminum case, 4.10 tru trac will have to wait. Especially at 1900!

1st on a ls/T56 is 2.66, late model Fbodies responded real well to 4.11s.

i have 3.89 also, however 4th gen camaro or first gen, really no different, 4.10s go best for all around performance, especially drag racing

I'm runnin a 4.11 in mine with a 9''. It has pretty good mileage on the interstate with the t-56, I would'nt go any less than 3.90 , but I'm running a 275/35/20. Ifr your going with a 26'' tall tire, I would'nt go less than 4.11's, that is if your gonna drive it.

I'm running a 9" with 3.70's and a 26" tire. It's worked great, I have 3500 miles on the car now and really like the way it performs. I haven't been to the strip yet, we'll see how good the Nitto DR's hook and if I wanted a deeper gear, but as of right now, I'm happy with my choice.

First gen - SBC, T56 and 4.11's with 18,500 miles on the car. Love the gearing, but might be looking for better mileage. I just went EFI, so I'm hpoing for 20mpg. If I get it, I'll stay with the 4.11s. If not, then we're looking at a gear change.
