I understand and agree that wider is better...but I always thought/understood that the front and rear tracks had to match for optimum handeling/drivability. Or the front should actually be a bit wider than the rear....like on a GM truck. I obviously have no idea!

Great work BTW!!

You guys do some incredible work.

At Sema there was a 2nd gen Camaro that did a stretch but it circled around the wheel opening.

The tire was a 315 with plenty of room to go bigger ( 2" added )

man i love this concept

sorry had to post a pic of the motor

Not feeling the street rod stance. I dig it but only on both ends of the car.

C6 Z51 285 35 19 in the rear & 245 40 18 in the front

Pretty much same chassis platiform(cant find spell check) except the Z06 has the flares with additional suspension upgrades & brakes & yadada

Wider is better!
Im all for this mod, too bad you couldnt have talked the customer into doing the front as well IMO it would balance out better. For those of you that are questioning the rear stretch, Go back and look at the Razor the Ring boys did, must of you probably didnt know the rear quarters were stretched I believe 1 1/2" but the average guy would never have picked it up.
Thumbs up on this one!

The difference between the ZO6 widened rear fender and that of a base model c6 is for the wider tires only which was necessary for pushing the increased engine power on the LS7 according to GM, all suspension upgrades still remain the same width as the base model.

I tried to get the front stretch with bigger tires on the front but he wouldn't .. Maybe the next 69.. I will have to pay more attention to the Razor next time I see it..

Thank you for the compliments!

Gonzo,

On my little s10 project we widened the fenders a little different. First we removed the inner / outer fender from the bed side. Then I took the handy fender roller and spent about 2 hours slowly stretching the bed side out 1.5" to gain the need tire clearence.

I would love to send you the fender lip roller if you wanted to try this on a older muscle car that has real sheet metal if you are interested.

I like the 2 inch version. But I agree with some others that doing the fron at the same time would help balance it out.
Thanks for posting the pics.
