what was the car that turned you into a car guy?

I grew up in a post baby boom neighborhood. there was about 20 boys around the same age and we got into some fun (and trouble) on occasion. I remember my neighbor wrenching on his flat black, slot mag 68 Chevelle while I was building a mini bike at around 10 years old. The dude had some nefarious sh*t going on in his house but I didn't care. He was building a SBC in his garage and I couldn't believe how pretty it was. It also amazed me that his empty engine bay was gonna take that monster (prob 325 hp at the time, ) and make his car actually run! I'll never forget how loud the car seemed at the time. What were those mufflers, Thrush? Anyway, he did a 50' burnout for me right in front of my house. I've been a bowtie guy ever since.
