Default Weight Guess?? between these motors...

Turbo Buick 3.8 V6 VS. any LSX less say LS2 for arguments sake (aluminum block)

I have a debate going on somewhere else.... claims a Turbo Buick 3.8 V6 is 'way' lighter I said I doubt it with out any reference or research.

Any know the weight difference?
The debate started over which is better for the back of a Corvair, my vote LSX

thanks

I read somewhere that the aluminum ls4 in the FWD Impala is the same weight as the all iron 3.8

I think the series 2 and 3 3.8s had shorter decks than the RWD 3.8s so if anything the LS motor is slightly lighter than the 3.8 turbo.
