Things i learned in relation to heat:

There are 2 factors that come into play. Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER) and Infrared Rejected. Between the 2 they play a 50/50 part in the production of heat. With that being said i compared the Crystaline and Color Stable from 3m. The Color Stable does not have any IR rejection.

So in theory is should cut the heat inside your vehicle by about 50%-60% vs regular tint. But for me it's not going to be worth it at twice the cost of the Color Stable. There is only one installer in San Antonio and he doesn't keep it in stock, and if i wanted to do 2 different shades (E.G. windshield vs everything else) it would be outrageous b/c i would have to pay for 2 separate rolls. Since he only have 1-2 requests a year.

I have remote start on my truck and i will stick to using that for now. With that being said there are other options for ir rejecting tint to include Huper Optik and Formula One, i just haven't done enough research to see 1) if it's available in my area and 2) if its worth the cost.

I have some friends that run a tint shop in San Marcos "Sal's House of Tint".
They have a clear window tint that sounds similar to the 3M brand listed above. I want to say that all of the tint they have rejects IR. We considered having the clear added to our front window but the only car we got a price quote on was our 01 Dodge Viper with a Major curved window; I think he quote $350 just for that window due to the curvature of it.
