Default I've been a member of this forum since '04 Project Car is 1965 GTO

Pics of the motor that I'm trying to finish asap
http://s162.photobucket.com/albums/t...0GTO%20engine/

I'm stressing out about the wheel and tire combo. I know most people build a car around the tire combo, but I know new wheels come out all of the time, I just did not want to buy multiple sets throughout the project. If anyone has an Idea of a wheel/rim let me know. The 65 is not as cool as some of the camaro builds but, it is different and this is why I'm having such a hard time choosing.

I'm bolting on the rear bumper this weekend. I did this whole car in the my garage, I used a paint shops spray booth to paint and had a friend/perfectionist do the panel work and spray it. We are just doing the final wet sanding and polishing.

I just ordered my License plate JEKLNHYD and if you read the write-up on later-g you will see that I wrote that a couple of years ago and it finally clicked that it should also be the plate on the car.

I've spent a lot of time with my 2 girls now the age of 13 and 12 yrs working on the car. They are amazing technicians. Kristina my youngest was the front end specialist and Talia my oldest helped with assembly of the LS6 and setting up the rear suspension.

As I mentioned earlier, the car never left my side because I thought I could finish it sooner than a shop around here in Long Island NY but maybe I was wrong - it has been almost 4 years. All that I do know is that the car is perfect so far, and I can't imagine anyone else being so complete in detail without costing my Kids College fund! (LOL)

I also have a Polished Magnuson with modified pulley that delivers 14lbs of boost on my forged bottom end. This is where the Jekyl and Hyde comes into play, have you ever heard the whine/scream of a Maggie under boost? It's is scary.

Thanks
Chris

Good intro, Chris. You have an awesome shop.

I think your member page on Lateral-g is one of the best since we embedded the YouTube video.

Wheels, now that's a tough one! What size are you looking at?

Default wheels?

Hey, love your GTO. It is hard to choose a set of wheels, different tastes and different themes for cars. For me, maybe an Intro Vista wheel, looks like an old Hurst wheel, which were famous on GTOs like yours. You could have red line tires, too - if you want to push the retro thing a bit.
see the web sight below.

that's my vote anyway. Maybe you could describe the theme of the vehicle you are going for?

BANDIT LS1 - The black fooring is called MotorMat

67BLACKBIRD - The Intro Vist wheels have a nice look - I want something to be agressive yet at the same time be different. I like these wheels exactly the way they are. But they were one-offs I think.

Ah, Desmond's ride. Yep, those are one-offs (at least they were at the time). That guy is a character.

Brent knows him quite well.

Seems like everyone loves these wheels. While you might not want to copy it exactly, Forgeline does have some other nice designs.

Thanks frank I will look at the forgeline now. I was just on the Bonspeed, intro wheels websites. I'm 41 and I have an old school eye for a wheel and it is hard to break down and get a 18"/19" combo. I like this also ---> http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/fe..._chevy_malibu/

2 totally different looks - comparing the delta/desmond wheel to the link. Some of the problem is also traction. I now have a 2001 Z06 with 520rwhp naturally asp and if I don't run a ET Street on the car and run my CCW's with 19" pirelli's the tires spin from here to Cali.

I'm a nut and rarely drive any of my cars under redline (lol) I love the "hair on fire" 7000 rpm shifts - what more is there to live for. So with that said I also need traction. I guess with so many drag radial sizes available I could always put them on too.
