Default 57 Chevy Chassis by Metal Works Performance Engineering

Guys, you have to check out the 57 Chevy chassis that the guys at Metal Works Performance Engineering have built. It uses what I call a twin-tubular truck arm rear suspension. It looks trick.

Click here for all the pictures.

Makes me want to put that setup under my car.

The rear suspension is nice; it's a shame all of that detailed work will be covered up with the body.

Wow that looks great

I was under the impression that a truck arm set up needed to have flex, and by that I mean the old factory style truck arm were the I-beam style and that some rotational flex to allow the suspension to articulate that much more by making them out of tubing wouldn't you be loosing that flex! Are they getting around that by running a big spherical bearing in the front....
maybe a truck arm guru will enlighten me???????

I think Hot Rods to Hell do a truck arm for the A-body. Not sure about the flex and all that though. You may want to check out their site.

It could just be a powder coat, but those parts appear to be made out of aluminum. So they will flex--but without the weight penalty of steel. That's my guess. Looks great.

Ya I am not real familiar with the truck arm set up other than the basics that is why I was wondering........Maybe I will call metal works

Come to think of it: I can't see why they'd need to flex. The real problem with truck arms is weight of the arms themselves. Metal Works appears to have taken care of that.

I talked to metal works for awhile last night....he was very knowledgable on the truck arm stuff! Basically he told me he was not at liberty to talk about the pics we have here because he was not ready to release any of there stuff I told him about the posts here hopefully he will post......
