Thanks guys. I am not sold on it either Steve. It doesn't look as shiny without the flash and I have yet to trim some of the ends. In fact Tyler thought the power steering lines were the same AN hose I am using everywhere else. One day I like it the next It's really hard to cut it straight. It looks good on the power steering lines since it's a smaller diameter and that is the same material I am using on the wiring. I may just end up cleaning up the hoses and shining them up a little. Heater hoses and AC lines will probably be the deciding factor on the radiator hoses.

why not use the little heatshrink type hose clamps... they you can have the mesh over the hose but the ends will be covered and look finished? amd imo they are the cleanest looking clamps.

Thought about those actually....tough to get a heat gun on the water pump inlet and not sure I trust them in the long run. I like the look of the NHRA approved clamps I am using. They aren't going to let me down.

I think Steve is running those on Penny and we know he doesn't run crap.

Steve is where I got the idea to run them....... and we both know how nice his car is done. With a small block or big block you can't get to the back side of the clamp on the water pump to apply heat like you can on an LS. My breather tank and catch can are using the exact same clamps as I am using on the hoses. The mesh will go before the clamps. Plus those boogers aren't cheap like regular hose clamps.

She is alive. Hooked up the dash panel and ignition switch so I could watch my oil pressure while priming the engine. Pretty exciting to see the fruits of my labor turn into something like lights. Turned over the engine briefly to check the starter shimming and it's perfect.



Primed the oil pump for quite a while to make sure I had no leaks. I am running braided 350 hose and a remote oil filter on the front passenger frame. Everything looks great. The distributor is now stabbed and spark plug wires are done.

For you guys running the DSE sub. Do yourself a favor and have them weld on the Z bar bracket. The inner fender makes this a real pain in the you know what. It's tapped and done right but......it was a last minute change. The clutch rod etc. is on the top of the list. She is a dirty pig right now and needs some touch up. Somehow the inner fender got all scratched to **** on the way here. Of course no steering was probably the cause.



The boys over at ATS have been treating me right. Here is the solution to my crossmember issues. They modified it with one of their T56 crossmember ends and moved the center bracket slightly. Of course it still needs painted. ATS is top notch. Highly recommend them.


I added fuel tonight to prime the fuel system and check for leaks. I had 4 leaks. Two at the carb bowls and the fitting on both sides of the pump. I used a pipe dope and the fuel ate right through it. Lucky me!! I had to disasemble all the fittings with the dope and replace it with tape. It's all fixed now but what a mother ######. The carb leaks were caused by a frankly crappy design. They used two gaskets with my high dollar fuel rail. I used the gaskets and tape and it's not leaking anytime soon.
