My Porsche drives but the mod bug has hit with that thing too!

But I'm so anxious for this Camaro to get done.

Fabrication work being done by ironworks:

Smooth firewall
Sub frame connectors
Mini Tub
Bend / install brake lines

I've done a lot of work to the car including the front and rear suspension and fixed a lot of things the previous owner butchered.

Rodger said they could complete everything in about 90 days before I decided to tub it.

Some shops would keep your car for more than a year with less work than this.

Rich, that's a nice parts list for sure.

I'm gonna send you a PM.

I do not believe in running a storage facility, even though that is a side effect of this business. You can ask anyone of my customers, about there experience in my shop. We get work done. We have 14 months in Johns nova at about a 75% work schedule. We have 7 months in Brians 63 nova at about 90% and almost 2 months in Erics convertible at about the same 90%. We are doing another 66 with similar frame and drivetrain as Eric's and I hope to have it set on the ground with a tube chassis and all the floors in 9 weeks. If a shop has the right staff and good scheduling, they can really get some work done. Technology has really helped to speed things up in my shop, we water jet 98% of all brackets and parts which is cheaper then hand fabbing all the parts, just due to the cost of labor involved.

Example the front crossmembers on Erics Nova are all water jet, there are 4 of them and I do not know any body who could make that part in 8 hours. So 8 hours x 65 = 520. I can cut and design those same plates for about 120ish dollars a piece. Plus you get the parts in about 4 hours and you have now gained 4 days and all the parts are ultra precision and you can do way cooler stuff. Shoot look at the slots in that same frame, can you imagine how long that would take on the mill to machine those same slots. You get the idea.

Thanks for all the kind words Guys, I have some talented staff, that love what they do.

Rodger

Thanks

I have learned over the years, that building high end cars takes just as much talent behind the welding helmet as it does behind the computer. Somedays I shake my head and realize I had no clue 7 years ago what I was getting self into.

Most all the projects in my shop, are super high end, extremely detailed and thought out projects and they take considerable effort to organize and keep on track, It is way more complicated then just bolting on a carb and headers with low pro tires. So in order to do that we have to be willing to continue to grow and change.

Since you don't have updated pictures do you have a real good idea of how far along the car is?
I would suggest getting the car and bring it home and going thru the car and see if its what you expected.
Then decide from there who to take the car to.
The new shop might not like the workmanship that was done at the previous shop and you may have to back track things abit which will cost you time and money.

I'd give the guys at Bruning Auto Design a call and see what they have to say. You might want to take your car up there.

The most recent pics I have are 2-3 months old and I know the few things he has gotten done since then (we have weekly calls to discuss).

I am going up there to see it in 2-3 weeks and if things are not moving as we discussed 2 weeks ago I will make arrangements to go back with a trailer at the end of Sept to bring it somewhere else.

What is Bruning all about? Not much of a website....
