Default Wider Front wheels on a 69 Camaro

Hello, I'm new to this site. Looks like a ton of good info here. I'm building a 69 Camaro, have DSE tubs, sub frame connectors and upper and lower A- Arms. Stock subframe. Air ride on all four corners.
I'm wondering if I can go to a 9" wide wheel in the front. I could "C" out the subframe where the tire will rub. Has anyone tried a wider rim than 8" in a situation like this?

Subframe won't be your problem. If you want to run it low then the outside fender lip will be the problem. I would run a 8" and a 245 size tire that's all you'll need!

At Columbus this year a 69 Camaro competing for Street Machine of the year set the fastest time with a 225 size front tire and a 325 size rear tire.

We run 275 front and 345 rear on the Carmaros we build. A little C is all it needs to clear and when you are at driving hieght it clears fender with no problems. You can run a small tire but the large tire looks much better.
