Glad to hear it wasn't a catastrophe... even though it was a mess! We've got some H3R halon ones at the shop and in our cars. Halon makes no mess, but not cheap. I guess cheaper than the hours spent cleaning up the powder kind. Halon is no longer made thanks to EPA regs, so these are all reclaimed units, causing the price crazyness. Interesting FAQ about the stuff:

Always been in the plans to mount one to the roll bar. The interior still needs finished so it was coming. I planned to buy a Halon like I have seen you discuss in the past.

I have the template for a cool mount to the front of the passengers seat. It's a handy and out of the way location. Let me know.

You'll be glad you spent the extra on a Halon type if you ever need to use it.

Glad there was no injury or major damage.

Speaking of extinguishers, this is a great alternative to using halon or dry chemical. I saw this on Trucks when Stacy David was the host. You can use it in a pressurized water extinguisher. The only drawback for some is that it is a liquid....but better than a raging fire.

When I worked at Goodies, we got a bunch of those in and were selling them for less than Summit or Jeg's. I do believe they were the 2.5lb versions. You could give them a call and see if they still have any left. And yeah, they were Halon. That's something I'm DEFINITELY gonna get for my car.
