Default wow!

that is one badass ride you got going there, have you heard anything bad about these aftermarket frontends causing the car to buckle?? we put a similar one in the 70 cuda we built with the viper motor and the owner is worried now as he has heard of several E bodies folding up at the front ! as the original chassis puts all the load thru the torque boxes via the torsion rods so the inner fenders dont take any load but when going to a coilover set up this puts all load thru the front rails and inner fenders,do you have any thoughts or input to add as we have another cuda to do with the same front end and the owner doesnt want to modify the topside at all, lastly, whose wiring harness is it? as i would like to fit an srt in an earlier barracuda at some time in the not to distant future.

Default One sweet cuda

Excellent job Telly! Thats great that you can drive it, enjoy it, and still work on it. I like the wheels just the way they are, think that if the centers were black it would take away from the loks of the car. That stance is killer! You were on the money. I bet those poor Nittos get a heck of a workout with that Hemi, I own a 72 Camaro Z28 and a Cuda or Challenger are the only two cars I would even consider trading for. Great job, very clean not over the top crazy, just tastefully done. NICE!

The AlterKtion from RMS puts the load on the K-member itself and front frame rails, not the inner fenders at all, actually the hole where the shocks originally mount becomes obsolete. There are AlterKtion's w/ 60K plus miles on them now without any issues.

XV is another option, a much greater investment $$ and fabrication, uses C5 suspension. Way badass, but double the money $$

i know what you are saying but the inner fenders are all that support the front frame rails and the frame rails were never designed to take the load at that point, if the car is 100% rustfree it may be ok though, thanks for the input.

Isn't that the Magnumforce front? They used it on the Sick Fish, It does mount the coilovers in the orginal damper locations, looks scary to me. Boyd Coddington also used it on the MAX HEMI '64 Polara. Don't know it that's the one you mean?

the sick fish I do believe did not have an xv I'm not sure what it did have I'll check the build book at the shop tomorrow, the alterktion does not use the stock shock mounts it has there own brackets off of the k-member so your coil over or shockwave does not use the stock mounting location!!!!

Default Rms

I hope this doesn't cause too much debate, but I keep hearing from a "very few" on different boards about how the RMS puts stress on the frame rails. I have the RMS sitting in garage and have stared at this setup. Unless the self-contained coil brackets fold inward, how does this setup put undue stress on the frame? And, so I don't mis-communicate, the key phrase in my statement is "undue stress". Looks to be one of the best thought-out systems I have seen. At this point, I'm glad I purchased it!!!!
