Wheels for my 71 monte

Right now im in the process of installing new a arm bushings, 1 inch lowering springs from hotchkis, new shocks and heidt's tall 2" drop spindles.

I've been running the stock 15x7 wheels and am looking at getting some 20" torq thrust m's in black.

I'm thinking 20x10 in the rear and 20x8.5 in the front.

I know I have room for a 275/35zr20 back there because we already have two and I've stuck them up under there with about an inch of clearence on each side with them tucked way up in the fender. The wheel offset is +35mm.
Do you think they would fit with that offset?

Also, can I get some opinions on this photoshop I made? Keep in mind the front will be a bit lower with the spindles and all.

Well I did all of my math, and compared to the stock 255/70-15, the 275/35-20 that we have are around an inch shorter, and the overall section width is only .8 inches larger. The wheels should be a near perfect fit, and some 245/35-20 compared to the 235/60-15 in the front is jsut a bit taller and a hair wider.

I'll get these after I get the 65' vw dune buggy sold for 1500...

You want to keep your overall height on the front around 26" or less, and 27" overall height in the rear. You can probably easy carry a 295 in the rear and a 255 up front. I would condsider staggering the rims 20 rear and 19 or 18" front. Just make sure however smaller your front wheel diameter is then your rear, your tire diameter needs to be equally less. In other words, if you run 27" tires on the rear with 20" rim, and you run 18" rims on the front, your front tire needs to be 25" or less to avoid looking taller then the rear tire.

For the rear wheels deduct 4" off your overall rim width for the right backspace. For the front wheels deduct 3 1/4" off the overall rim width. So if you have 10" rear, you need a 6" back space. If you have a 8.5 front, you need a 5.25 backspace.

Thanksfor the help. I cant stagger these wheels because the sizes they make in 5x4.75 is 22s, 20s, or 17s and that would look stupid. I cant find 19s or 18s in the right bolt pattern.
We've already got two 275/35-20s and those are going on the rear. We're on a budget here and these wheels are only $225 each for the rear and $200 for the fronts, so I've only gotta buy the front tires.

You don't think 255s would rub up front with my hotchkis 1 inch drop springs and 2 inch drop spindles?

255 will be fine if you use aggresive camber (-.5 to -1.0) and keep the overall heght down to 26 or less and keep the backspace in the 5.25 to 5.5 range. If anything you would have inner wheel rubbing at full lock. No big deal.
