What vette calipers?

I think most that run a manual system, use a bore size smaller then 1".

If you're running C4 front calipers, a 7/8" master cylinder is preferred. If you're running C5/C6 front calipers, 7/8" to 15/16" bore master cylinder.

Sorry for this hijack but what would be good for a C4 front and stock rear drums for my 68 in manual mode. On my 69 I tried a 15/16 mc and the effort was too high although going to HP plus pads helped.

Rick, 15/16" bore MC with C5/C6 front calipers is virtually the same as 7/8" bore MC with C4 calipers (12-13% difference in area for both the calipers and the MC's). Your pedal travel shouldn't be excessive with the 6:1 pedal ratio, but definitely check it after installing the smaller bore MC. I've been meaning to look at whether there is a compatible, smaller bore rear wheel cylinder to reduce pedal travel since the MC is now generating more pressure, but haven't yet found the time for that particular research project.

Thanks again, Tobin. What is a good manual 7/8" MC candidate?

Wilwood's 260-9439 is a good 7/8" bore candidate for the money. I'm sure Frank at Prodigy/GP could hook you up.
