Plastic/Fiberglass Chrome - Lateral-g Forums

I have had a few inquieries on the chrome we are doing. Its up and running now. Here is a couple pics on a 69 camaro Ft bumper we just chromed, its a fiberglass front clip for a Top Sportsman Camaro. Possibilities are endless. I can also tint the chrome so it can do a candy color or anything. This is plating, not paint.

Its Catalized Plating. You spray a mettalisized (sp?) coating down on what you want to Chrome, then several chemicals are sprayed over the top of the coating and rinsed off to end up with a chrome finish., then it is sealed. Its quite messy. We are still learning every day on it but its coming out pretty well. There is a company that has paint thats supposed to look like chrome but its not quite as shiney as this plating, havent used that just seen it advertised. Going to do some orange chrome plow lights tomorrow for a truck and will post the color of that after they are done.

I havent really done tints yet, this orange will be the first attempt. Let you know how it comes out.

thanks for getting those posted .
im very interested in doing business with you..ill spread the word as much as possible....what other materials can you do? plastic? metal?
please get back to me on the cost factor ...i really dont want to paint my bumpers and this looks like the way to go.....

Anything can be plated. Glass, plastic, wood, fiberglass etc. I need to see some pics of what you have and also parts need to be in a "plating ready" condition, which is smoothed out so if they were painted they will look great. The better we have to start with, the better your job, if we have to do the prep it will cost more. The bumper on the 69 camaro ft clip was about $150. A larger one like a bolt on, will probably be around 225 or so. Just send me pics on what you have. [email protected]

Its been done, not by me, but I have seen it. Its a lot of $$ though. Materials alone are probably 4K plus prep time.
