Well, we are confirmed for a dyno tuning session on Thursday night. I plan on going up there for it and will definitely get some video action of that!
Sweet man...what pulley are you going to run?? Pump gas or race??

Well we are running the smaller pulley for now which used to hit 14psi with no intercooler when Don/Jody were running it in Don's 69. But now it is only seeing 9 or 10psi with my intercooler setup, which concerns me a bit. That's a large boost drop - shouldn't be that big. One of the things I want to try to figure out...

Just pump gas for now I think, but I do want to talk to the tuner about a separate file for race fuel in the future, but maybe after I get a stronger block!

Default Hi Dave,

Sounds like you had a great trip to GG show. my car was stalled a while do to lack of funds. I am back in line now. there are a couple cars ahead of mine but Jason is doing his best to schedule me in. gas and brake lines were the last items installed. Next items will be interior center console and most electrical components hooked up including dash/ac/power windows/alarm/ac etc. peterson oil tank will need to be hook up before we can fire motor. So its getting closer to being finished. Hopefully by Autorama in Feb. 2010. I'll try to make it by Gearhead on thursday.

Cool Tony, glad to hear you are back on the project. Maybe we will both be at that Autorama deal... will have to talk to Jason about that for me. I might not qualify with all the other nice cars in the shops like yours and the silver 69.

I should be up there late afternoon sometime if you are around the shop. Maybe I'll see ya.

Simple fix.

Black intercooler.

the only way to know is hook a boost gauge between the blower and intercooler to see if it reads higher than the one in the intake manifold. I think that blower has an 1/8" npt plug in the outlet housing where you could hook up a mechanical boost gauge temporarily to see. If it shows 14 psi there then the issue is the intercooler or you've got a big boost leak between the intercooler and engine. If it shows the same boost before and after then you've got belt slip issues, which are fairly common with the stock ATI tensioner (though Don never had a single problem with his, which is why we left it alone). SD Performance Concepts makes a much better tensioner for that , it's a direct replacement and I and many others run it instead of the stock ATI one.

I plan to do the SDCE tensioner over the winter if the funds are looking good. Jody what size is that pulley you guys used for 14 psi on Don's 406??

Haha you and Jody both like that idea huh. I like it too but I just love the looks of it sticking thru the grille and it continues to match the color/finish of the engine compartment. Very industrial. Don't wanna hide it just yet!

That's right I remember you said that now. I will see if these guys can do that tmrw night at the dyno Jody. I have read about the SDPC stuff and it is spendy but looks to be the top shelf ticket for this problem. We'll see if I have belt slippage I guess.

I thought the 2 pulleys we had are 4.25" and 3.75" but maybe it is 3.85"
