Default Smallest power steering box

Wich of the available power steering boxes is the smallest..

my car currently has the standard base 307 v-8 steering box and even headers made for power steering are having trouble clearing in my car

the engine is a 454 with afr 305 cylinder heads. does anyone have any experiance with a similar setup using power steering and a set of headers that fit ?

I have the 600 series box from Lee mfg. and just mocked up my BBC and had plenty of room for my headers.Greater then 1 " clearance......granted they are Lemons headers but still was suprised. Similar box from DSE

well i found out what to do if you dont want to spend 600 bucks on a box ..

a1 cordova reman box part number 27-6531 from orilies for a 83 fbody v-6 605 saginaw .. use a manual rag joint and manual arm and it gives a ton more clearance then the stock saginaw 800 box.

total cost about 230 bucks

The wheel ends up at about 3.5-4 turns lock to lock.

Now this is NOT the hot setup for a road race car but it drives perfectly and works just fine for me since im not about taking corners fast in my 69.

How's the feel with that box? Is it really easy to turn, or does it have a good feel to it?

Did you have to use adaptor fittings for the line hook ups?

it feels decent but its no road roace box ..its 15-1 ratio it also requires that you use a manual rag joint and manual arm.

its smaller in all dimensions then the stock box but has a bulge at the are it ataches to thecouple so some headers might be tight there

I did a search on Rockauto for the year/model, they list the part number you have, and another aplication with a "performance suspension." I wonder if that box has a better feel to it.
