My first concert was Ozzy diary of a madman, I was big into metal. Alas as I have aged I fell for country, which I used to hate. Its mellow which I need when I commute. I still enjoy hard rock but only listen to it on occasion.

Big metal fan hear...never really got into the real "hardcore" stuff where the leader singer basically just yells into the microphone... I prefer the guys that can sing...not just scream and grunt....
Had the mullet...never did the full "long hair" metal look. Clothes basically consisted of jeans and metal band concert shirts
VH, AC/DC (prefer the Bon Scott stuff), Metallica, Scorpions, GNR, Aerosmoth, Def Leppard etc etc....
Eddie Van Halen was my idol....had tons of pix and posters in my room
HATED the glam bands....as soon as they started to look like chicks, they lost me.....even Crue once they entered their pastels and big hair phase
Now, my favorite "newer" bands are Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, etc....still more of a mainstream metal/rock, than some of the guys on here

I kind of like a mix of Ned and Tones choices. Good sound, heavy, lot's of guitar. I grew up on the hair bands too, even went to a Dokken concert LOL! Might have seen Ratt too, kind of a fuzzy memory...... the late 80s and early 90s are real fuzzy.....

Love metal, all those listed above plus a few others like Queensryche, Whitesnake, Iron Maiden, Baby Animals (Australian band) etc
Saw this one the other day, not strictly metal or hard rock, but not bad

I do like my metal, grew up on Ronnie Montrose w/Sammy then a pretty heavy dose of Dio.Now,I listen to Saliva,Slipknot for my metal fix but my tastes run all over the board except no country and no rap crap.
In my house, there'll be smooth jazz in the living room and bedroom (for the cat ),classic rock in the front garage and currently, either classic Johnny Winter live from 1971 or Warren Haynes Gov't Mule series of southern-fried rock...I do like my Ray Wylie Hubbard too.
Currently in the DD is Chickenfoot but no music in the musclecar's...ever!
Music lends itself to different moods and I like to have variety in my life...

Def Leppard is my all time favorite rock band. Love Stevie Ray Vaughn, Phil Collins, Kiss, Journey, Loverboy, Eddie Money and the lists goes on and on!! The Scorpions had some of the best guitar riffs in their music!!

I should have included Queensryche. They are local here and I have followed them since the start. Been to many shows small and large and still crank it up till it hurts. They were also the opening act at my first concert. Dio. Paramount Theater. I was in the 5th grade. The "blue" cloud in that place was amazing........ If my mom only knew what she had done by letting me go. LOL!!!

Nice post, Travis! You started something with this one! Seen well over 100 shows from KISS at Dodgers Stadium on halloween night '98 to Metallica with GnR and Motorhead in the King Dome to Black Label Society and Gruntruck in bars. And who here can forget the free, open bar, private David Lee Roth show at the Hard Rock during SEMA week a few years back?! Best night ever? Maybe! Show me your horns!
