Have you considered the negative effects for future resale?

People love to say that, until the time comes when they do want to sell the car, and then complain no one wants it. But just blame that on the economy, .

I think if a car has good workmanship, and a well thought out design, there will Always be a segment of the population that will want it. The Graphics and everything on this car will be a "Film", like they do on Police Cars, so I can change it if I want, or If I just want a RED car, I'll have it stripped off.

I plan to advertise on this car also for my Real Estate Business, or a different Venture I'm looking into. I know it will get a lot of attention, moving or sitting still. Helping to save myself some advertising dollars helps pay the car off anyway at least a little bit. Plus, I'm hoping some of the names on the car, "Jakes Rod Shop", "Hermance Design", and the S.C.T.A. Road Runner Car Club, will get a call or five off of having their names on a neat looking car.

We will see how well it generates any action.

I'll Live and Learn.

Thanks,

Ty O'Neal

Every dog has it's day. I get the "I thought I'd live here forever" quite often in my business. I'm just pointing out another perspective, not bashing his project. I always think of resale. Of course, I'm in sales.

Todd:

You are right. 99.99% of the time I will base any large capital expense on the residual value of the asset when I'm finished with it, AND you're not bashing.

Don't worry about that, even if you were I'd take it in stride. I've been in sales to, "Thick Skin", you know!

I hope everyone feels free to say anything they want about it or me. The design is out of the box a bit, and with that I knew it wouldn't be everyones cup of tea.

I love this hobby, and ideas from anyone who want to add to the conversation is welcome. Besides, "Paybacks a Bitch, Right??" Just kidding.

This is an indulgence for me. A break from Serious Business and the Stress of Life. I'm just looking to have a great time playing with it, and seeing if I can get some utility out of it over and above it being a toy. (Without Killing Myself)

Speak freely please.

Take care,

Ty O'Neal

Hey man, it's your dream so make it a reality. That was just the first thought I had because it's never been done to my knowledge. Keep us updated on the project.

Todd:

I'll be more than happy to keep everyone updated on the progress. I'll also be sure and tell everyone the things I have found that don't work worth a damn as I come across them.

No sense in someone else making the same mistake. Hopefully they will be few and far between.

Take Care,

I was wondering exactly what was meant by the question. I am welcome to ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS!! I just want to clarify one every now and then.

I bought this Pro-Touring Car from someone who had also changed it. I'm really not planning on selling her anytime soon. I've waited since 1979 to have this one and that was Too Damn Long!!

Plus, I think if the workmanship is good, it will always have value to someone. I sincerely think "Pro-Touring" is here to stay, and we are all probably still in the early stages of it.

Looking at the Street Rod area of Building, I doubt there are any Truly new things someone can do in that area.

I'm glad that this car has some "Hopefully", genuinely fresh ideas on it, plus some real functionality.

I would worry about resale if I got rid of my cars. But other than a Pick up Truck and a Harley, I still have just about every car since the mid 80's.

1986 Porsche 928s
1965 Riviera
1997 Suburban
1998 MB ML 320
1987 MB 300 SDL
Looking for a TR3 for my wife.

I'll let my Grand kids worry with what to do with them.
