Thanks for the help..
Sounds like an 18x9.5 w/a 5.5 back space might do the trick and stay w/a 275 tire.

I too would like to fit a 295 on a 10" wide rim, if one was replacing both quarters could they be pumped out enough to clear, perhaps with some inner tub massaging at the same time. Any ideas?

Well while you are at it why not just mini-tub?

I have 18x10s with 275's and I will rub sometimes on real hard transitions. When we installed the new quarters and outer wheelhouses, we trimmed them back as much as possible and welded them together, so my lip is about 1/4" wide.

I don't see how anyone could run much more tire than that without consequences or compromises. I only have a 2" drop spring in back (DSE).

I wish I would've mini-tubbed it back then, but may do so when I install a 4 link someday.

i have an 18x10 with 5.75 inches back spacing and a 295. it fit, but barely, and i had to trim the hell out of the fender. i couldn't get the stance i wanted though, so i just went ahead and mini-tubbed the car and am now in the process of getting the wheels widened and rear end narrowed to accommodate a 315 or so.

just tub it or run a 275.

I also run a 18x10 rear on my '69 with 5.625" b/s and a 275/40 tire and my car eats that up whole,could have easily run a 285 or larger...but then again,my car's a freak.

I've put the 18x10 (5.75" b/s) & 305/35's off of my Chevelle and those fit with clearance...weird car I tell ya.

I should clarify; I have a 67', so there is slightly less room under there.

are your fenders rolled or pulled at all?? a friend of mine with a 69 pulled his fenders slightly and he managed to fit a 295 at a pretty low stance, and he auto crosses frequently with little if any rubbing
