I would have to agree completely. I love to push the envelope as much as the next guy but in the end the car we remember from that era still looks good in our head.

PS but the cutting chopping an stuff is still cool too!

Thanks for sharing

why don't you do something with the design of the car that is ground-breaking instead of a stock looking yellow camaro with a black hood?
Well... there's design, and then there's design. The car needs to be recognizable as a 69 Camaro, and it has to be something that other enthusiasts can claim as their own. Keeping the outer sheet metal as GM originally intended will help with that, and so is one of our base requirements. We are showcasing the Auto Metal Direct replacement parts (both in aluminum and steel), and it's hard to show off replacement parts that get tweaked.

The car has enough new technology in it; plenty enough to keep Frank and I up at night wondering if we can get all of it done.

I'm sure there will be other projects that tweak the sheet metal for a different look.

John ,it's Auto Metal Direct.

I still think you should look into V160 Getrag 6 speed transmission, FWIW there was an update between some years, can't recall what year, and they have different gears, plus SW managed to get his 6 speed Supra to break 240+mph,setting records so I know it's worth looking into
