on one video on youtube that shows the actual crash it says its a salt water lagoon.not really sure what that is.
amazing the guy that crashed the bugatti and its filmed.he was probably on the phone or texting.i felt sorry for the flatbed guy that had to hook the thing.at least he cared enough to clean his hands in a puddle before he turned the steering wheel.b/j is to scary for me.remember all the drama from the reggie jackson bidding on his copo or zl1/there is alot of good threads on yenko.net about b/j

The ’54 Bonneville Special sold for $2.9 million last night, and believe it or not, that wasn’t the big news.

All eyes were on the bidder who supposedly bid $4.1 million for the GM Futurliner bus. Only he didn’t bid $4.1 million. After thinking about raising his bid for a moment, the bidder made a slicing motion across his neck and said “I’m out.” Only, the auctioneers took that as a bid. The second bidder immediately said he was out.

When the dust cleared, the paperwork for the bus was presented to the first bidder, who refused to sign it saying he clearly bailed out from the bidding process. Half of the auction staff was there trying to get the controversy sorted, and eventually, Craig Jackson and the bidder went to the Skybox to watch a replay of the “bid” which was being filmed by Speed.

By 10:00 or so last night, word was that Barrett-Jackson had accepted the fact that the bidder bailed out of the process. Management was trying to square a deal for the owners of the Futurliner late into the night

Interesting subject. My painter Andrew, my adopted 4th son, graduated police academy this summer. So we pull into the auditorium at the college graduation and what is parked right at my front bumper between a little sedan and a sport utility? A Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu, Bleu (not Blue) carbon fiber and polished aluminum. Just sitting in the parking lot like every other car there! I could not believe it. On the way out it was raining good and the skys were full of lightening and and threats of hail. Lisa snapped of a shot, if you look close you will see a wet line around it.

Through further investigation I find out from a friend that knows the owner. it is a daily driver driven from Sanford to New Smyrna, about 60 miles each way of country road, everyday!

I thought I had seen it when we were in Festival of Speed last year. I dug around and found some more info on the car and a pic from Festival of speed.

Must be nice. But like you Rodger, I would have it no other way.

I agree with Mark.

I have two buddies that are in the business -- they'll take 30 + cars to BJ Scottsdale -- and they'll make a killing on some of 'em -- do okay on a few -- and lose on a couple more. Overall.... they do just fine. Their costs of transportation are lowered by taking entire truckloads - one pickup point - one drop off point. They know how to detail to the max - and they know how to pimp to the max. They'll spend months in advance getting the word out on what they're bringing. Beating the drums and getting the marketing done. They don't start that on the day of the show.

Here's the BIG BUTT in the room -- since they're big time customers and know what they're doing - they have prime time #'s - and they have cars that are bought to sell... and bring top dollar. They don't do 'weird' and one off. They do DESIRABLE - MARKETABLE - MAINSTREAM.

The guys that loose - are the single car sellers - non prime time - and they only have one car to apply all their costs too... That's hard to make money on for anyone.
