Default advice needed 67 camaro mini tub

I am using leaf springs and don't want to go any other way than leaf springs.
I have dse mini-tub wheel houses and used offset spring hangers in the rear from competiton engineering part# 2032. I am tucking a 18x12 wheel under the car....here is my problem: now that I relocated the rear shackle, the front of the leaf spring will not bolt up to the factory spring pocket. instead of the leaf springs running parallel:

ideal: ||
mine: \ /

lol, best way for me to explain

is there any way to fix this without installing a tubular crossmember in the front for the front eye of the leaf spring to bolt to? I really want to run a stock or close to stock fuel tank, but as far as these c/e relocators move the leaf springs over...I see only a fuel cell in the trunk being my option, which I really don't want. My tires are 315/35/18...does anybody offer a different spring relocator that maybe does not move the spring over so much and will it be enough for my application to clear the tire?

Any and all help is appreciated.

The DSE offset hangers look to be less offset than the CE's, but don't know if they'll solve your problem. You could also look into using swivel bushings for the front spring eyes.

I would think the DSE hangers would work perfect, that's exactly what they were made for, and there are many in use currently.

Until you know exactly how far you need to move them it's going to be tough to get a definite answer. The main problem I see is that any relocator is going to screw up the C/C width on the spring center bolts, so you are looking at moving the perches on the housing in any case.

The last 1st gen we did had 10 1/2" of tire clearance (12 1/2" total) from the spring to the fender lip, IIRC.

Your tire is roughly 13 1/4 ", so you would need to get to 15 1/4" minimum from the fender lip to the spring. That's 2 3/4" IF I'm remembering it correctly...

Don't see that happening without moving the axle perches and re-designing the front mounts as well.

axle perches are not a big deal...actually, I am building the rearend now and that is when I discovered this problem, I was taking measurements so I would know where to weld the new perches on the rear. I went to bolt in the leaf springs and they would not bolt in because rear is so far inboard compared to the front eye.

as far as the dse rear shackle....has anybody used them with a wheel/tire this size on a 67-68?

it would make my life alot easier if the dse shackle would work, I just don't think it will move the leafspring in enough to clear the tire.

they will work. Call them up, but they've been using that kit for years for up to 12" wide wheels and 335 tires. They actually recommend a 315 on your car, so you're set.
