Default 1969 Camaro wide trunk gap need advice?

Hello Camaro fans, I am currently restoring a 1969, I installed DSE mini tubs and new OER quarters, The qtrs seem to fit well along door edge and everywhere except the trunk gap, it is wide like 1/2 inch, anybody ran into this problem, starts out closest to back window good then gets wider about 1/3 of the way down towards rear panel any help would be apreciated Thanks

Yeah, everyone who's installed aftermarket quarters has.

Default Holy Trunk Gap

Thanks for the reply, I cut the l.h. qtr last niight and brought it in, looks better, then will go to the r.h. side once I get the metal work done on the l.h. side, I was afraid that was the kind of reply that I would get, just nature of the beast, I do believe what did you use to grind it a roloc 36 grit or is there something that works better, looks like you have done that a time or two. thanks for the pics,

Actually, that link isn't my work. But I have done it a time or two.

I like to take down the welds with a 3/16x3" wheel on a die grinder, just hitting the weld until I get it down to the sheet metal. Then finish up with a roloc sanding disc. Takes away less of the surrounding metal that way.
