Sounds like a good plan from the Iceman.

The 377 is a pretty fun motor so far. It's got such a monster cam that its not very torquey down low, and doesnt really start pulling really hard til about 5k. But it revs hard to 7k where I have the rev limiter set at now. I don't know the full history on the motor but I've been driving it pretty hard and it's doing well so far.

What is your intended purpose and car? No one seems to build these anymore -- it's all about maximizing cubes these days.

Right, so it's clear what you need to do.

Plus, you're not getting any younger.

The car is a 86 Vette . i do alot of track days . Midwestern Road courses
Autobahn , Gingerman and Blackhawk.
Havent decided on a trans either .
My opinion is a 377 will live longer than a 406

Sweet ad... too bad it's for an inferior model year.

Sounds like a blast. It should live a lot longer if you use an aftermarket block! That's my main concern. I've already had my share of issues with previous 400 blocks.
