I have the first book also, Learn some from it.LS1 tech is good also.You can never have to much info.

GM also offers a book. well, more like a booklet (35 pages), but still well worth having.

LS1 Engine Kit Installation Guide

The one I have is PN 88959384 and was revised 9/1/01

They have probably made updated ones since then but it has GM part numbers, pictures, DTC, PCM pin-outs, wiring diagrams/ engine control schematics, etc

I've found it very helpful for my swaps. I've done two so far. My '67 Firebird will be my 3rd LS1 swap.
