After a nice Xmas vacation I was anxious to get back in the shop with Rich and start installing some parts I had shipped while I was away. We made some good progress today fueled by grilled tacos for lunch and dinner in between. There's a sweet Mexican market down the street from Rich's shop.

My Champ Road Race pan came in from Amazon, and at $251 shipped, I thought that was a very good deal. 1 left in stock the site says now.

We tackled the rear suspension area today starting with the Hellwig 5824 sway bar.

Custom length (they said no one ordered this size in over a year) Varishocks. Due to the fab work done by the previous shop working on the car we needed a very short shock compared to most 1st gens. Thanks to Mark @ SC&C for help on this.

Installed, along with a 1" lowering block that we swapped in to replace the 2" block already there. Can't lose too much of the attempted -- but not quite reached -- DFresh slammed stance.

Got my heads back from the machine shop. Wasn't expecting it, but not surprisingly I guess, they needed new guides and valve springs. They're CNC ported Brodix Track 1's. I guess the Pacaloy valve springs are supposed to be pretty nice pieces.

A shot of the naked 377. We pulled the main bearing to inspect and it looked pretty darn good. At least I now know what we're dealing with on this bastardized Camaro.

Next projects in line are to replace seals/gaskets on the M-21, finish the brakes lines for the rear Wilwood discs, repair/replace the shifter linkage, put the motor back together, and then on to the new cooling system.

Happy New Year boys and girls.

Very nice Dave. I see your starting the new year with a little "rebuild". Very nice. Happy New Year to you too.
(Thanks for making me hungry with the pics of the tacos.)

Good stuff, I'll be surprised if you need that rear sway bar. It's also a good time to consider a less rowdy cam.

Flash,

Have an estimate yet to when you'll be back on the road... scaring (and/or scarring) unsuspecting motorists and pedestrians?

Great build, can't believe I have missed this one.

Any idea who made the front suspension bars in this pick:

Did they go back on?
