I would agree and did not intend to come across as "negative". My guess is that somebody making that comment about my posts in general probably needs to do a little more reading of my posts. I was simply trying to present ACTUAL DATA AND FACTS rather than a point of view from a single (regardless of their own individual experience) body shop. People use this site to make decisions about their builds, and vendors depend on us at least being open.

Comments were made about Auto City and their glass being "inferior to PPG" when in fact, as I mentioned, the glass I received from them is PPG Glass. If that's negative, then well....

As to the not ever seing pics of my project, I probably have not posted too many on this particular site so I'll stick another thread out there

I appreciate your input here. Lots of good info ob top of where to get the glass.

And just so you and every other that posted here knows, I was not trying to single anyone out. I just thought the info had been put out and not much more positive was going on here.

By the way, nice looking goat!

Have you been happy with the flush mount glass? I have thought about doing the same on my car. But I have not seen any second gens with it yet.

Side glass for a second gen. is kinda hit or miss. I'm on my second 2 gen. build now.

The first car I used Autocity glass. The qaulity is great and I have no complaints. The fit is where the rub comes in, the side glas is just a little larger than the factory pieces they replaced. They work fine, but are tight when all the way up no matter how you adjust it. I called Auto city and they offered to send replacement side windows at no charge and said this happens with some runs of second gen. door glass. I decided the fit was good enough compared with the hassle of return shipping, packaging and changing/readjusting windows.

Over on NastyZ28.com glass was discussed at length once and there were problems with side windows from all the suppliers except one. Problem is that the supplier of the good side glass has now changed vendors since the good vendor stopped making the product. This may have changed since I haven't visited the site in a while. I'll be checking on this very shortly as I'm approaching the point of needing glass for my new car.

Also when I purchased from Autocity I ordered the complete car glass kit in smoke tint. The tint glass may be different or produced by someone different than the green tint and clear glass. The rear window is close to correct, but is slightly flatter at the curved upper corner than the factory unit.

Just my experiences with 2nd gen. glass so far. Let me know where you source from and how the fit is.

With the side windows in my 73 they are tight enough in the upper seals that my electric-Life power window motors will not raise them all the way when the door is closed for lack of enough torque. I have to open the door then top the window out and close the door. The lack of torque when raising the windows from the Electric-Life units is another product I will not use again.

Thanks for the info Tommy. I have spoken to you before on the other site. In fact I am using your thread here as a ref for replacing my roof skin.

Are you already on another second gen? (a third one?) Do you have a thread for it?

Oh, and thanks too for the elictric life kit opinion. Power windows are something I want. Is there any other kits out there? Or maybe refurbished OEM components is a better way to go?

No not a third car, I'm still working on project Fool's Gold. I just had some set backs time wise with several elements of the build but it is back on track now and I should have some updates in the coming month.

The electric-life units are "very" weak when raising the windows and I'm not happy with their operation as a whole. They have not failed in any way but just aren't up to the standards I want. For the new car I do have a set of Factory power windows to refurbish but at the same time I'm also looking at Nu-Relics power windows. I've been hearing really good things about the Nu-Relics from several sources.

Nurelics is the other better option
