Default Making headers

I haven't told you much lately about my transformation to LS1 power.

Well the engine is in place and I have started with the headers. I really like making them, in my earlier life I built many headers for dragracecars.

I have some concern though, to make them clear the steeringbox and to be removable easily I had to place some of the pipes close to the block. I wonder if the heat from the headers would affect the temperature of the block. It is not that they touching or so but they are closer than an inch. What do you think.

Here is how the leftside will look, the collector has to be attached. The primaries will be about 30" and they have to be cut four or five inches before the collector gets welded to it.

Those look really nice Jan

Not sure on the clearance but are you going to have them ceramic coated? that might help with the heat.

Jan , really nice work on the headers! I think you will be fine, I had the same situation with my 62 ford, they were roughly an inch away on the driver side , I had the headers ceramic coated inside and out and they were fine!!Go with it!
