Thanks for all the positive comments and feed back guys..... The car is out at Brian's for prep painted and we'll post some pic's as soon as he gets a chance to forward them to me.... Brian is a Hell of a painter and body guy that managed to complete the Cochise build in what some would say was an impossible time frame...
On a separate note,,,, I've decided to smooth the stock sub-frame, paint the rear end housing and undercarriage in a satin flat grey (to tie into the Carbon) and the cowl has been replaced in Carbon... Effectively when you open the hood of this car you will will see a motor painted in 70 Pontiac blue floating between and under a Clear Carbon hood, inner fenders and cowl,,, or simply stated floating in sea of Carbon & fine metallic Flat Satin Grey... This is something that the average guy can either do (if he has welding skills and equipment) or have done (have a pro weld and you work the rest) without getting goofy that adds a nice custom touch without getting crazy....
I have also made the decision to run the new Year One "cast Aluminum" one piece rims and have them sent out to be cut for more backspace and wheel contact/width.... The guys over at "Year One" deserve a High Five for providing an affordable option that is frankly beautiful in my opinion...
While some of the moves I make here are indeed self indulgent (putting Carbon on the build) the other moves are decisions I feel add the best bang for the buck in performance enhancement.... I fully appreciate that some people will not share my view point,,, but heck this is what I feel works the best so far within my experience... There are some less expensive options that can be chosen,,, but I feel the selected combination provides the best overall balance between spending and performance at this level of a build..
Thanks again gang,,, and I'll try to keep you more current on the build as details evolve...

I'm loving the concept behind this build!! Something the average guy can do himself while subbing out the harder stuff!

Just thought I'd share a couple of quick update pic's on the build after receiving an e-mail from Brian and talking to him on the phone.....
and with a little color
Fenders with a little clear Carbon detail for the engine bay that will be fitted with a Clear Carbon cowl, a custom smoothed and painted firewall and clear Carbon inner wheel wells and a smoothed painted sub-frame.... The idea will be to create a mono chromatic fine metallic semi-flat gray wash with Carbon accents and then float the LS1 motor (block) in the middle painted out in 70 Pontiac blue.
Stay tuned because next couple of weeks this thing is going to start to come together now....

Stripes underway, Brian Kellison is promising to do something cool here and we'll all just have to wait and see what he is up too... A little birdie said we'd all """really like""" his efforts before it was all said and done,,, something tells me this is gonna be good......

I like that red mimicking the fading the blue had that came on the cars originally. Looking great Albert.
