Can't wait to see it done, that's going to be one bad FE!
What kind of time frame you looking at before getting the car back with the new chassis?

You know the chassis is your fault. After your 4 link install I really started thinking about the logic of a 700hp motor and a unibody trying to round a corner.

Maybe May? I plan on having the motor on the dyno in May. Lot to do once I get the pieces back home.

Well as much as they would be my first choice, I mean we know they can make any car special ; Goolsby has worked out a build theme with Phil that includes airjackers and slapper bars...... I need to look at some polished slots.

Maybe I'll use the Intros on my Pacer.

Thanks. Trust me I wish it was done yesterday. I don't have anything against the new stuff but part of the lure of these old cars are the motors be it a 426 hemi, 440 wedge, Pontiac 455, chevy 427 or my little FE. Something about the sound of a NA big inch v8 coming out of a corner just seems right.

Dig these bad boys too.

Saw you went with a cast iron TP head.

Does anyone (besides Dove) cast an aluminum TP head?

You ain't playin...

The only thing I'd say is that cam is a little knarly for low rpm cruising in overdrive. I run a 252/260 @ .050. 110 LSA Good low end torque but it pulls to 6800 no problemo. Peak power at 6200.

Having had a 428 Mach 1 in high school, I'll always have a soft spot for FE motors. I'm looking forward to seeing this car come together

Ford made some AL TP castings but good luck finding them and have a pile of $$ ready.

Two companies make AL SOHC heads and Blue thunder, Pond, Shelby, Edelbrock, Dove all cast Med riser style heads but only Dove does the TP. Plan on a lot of epoxy with the Dove stuff.

The Iron castings I got were really nice and the guy had the Dominator intake so I jumped on them. If I wanted to drop a bunch more $$ on filling the floors of the exhaust I could be looking at a 800+hp mill. At some point I needed to say the motor was enough and put the cash into the chassis.

Thanks Ron. I really appreciate the kind words about my ugly duckling. I was at Fab Fords @ Knotts today, 1800 cars, half of them mutangs and a total of three Torino fastbacks.

And that Mach you built a couple years ago is beautiful. In HS back in the 80s I had a 69 Firebird with Herb adams bars, Global West arms,WS^ steering box, 16x8 Ronals with Gatorbacks and a Poncho with a muncie. Torquey motor just like the FE super fun.

Sounds knarly until you add in the CI. I think it will be ok. What the hell if it doesn't the rpm I'll speed up to 90 or drop into 5th @ .82

Agreed.

I wouldn't take Dove heads even if they were given to me.
