Default Yep you guys know

I don't want to actually slam anyone before I give hime the benefit of the doubt, I will call him monday am, I will call all the suppliers that he deals with monday am, and they I may be calling my bank to see about getting my money back, why can't he just tell me the trans has shifter issues but that still doesn't make up for the other stuff I have ordered, Maybe I will start my own business. Selling parts should be pretty easy not like he is inventoring parts or anything just moving money, thanks for the support guys will keep you updated,

My vote would be go with Hurst Driveline Conversions in Ca. Professional and top notch service.
In my experience they guided me to purchase the correct tranny, clutch and hardware needed for my t56 in my 69bird.
Another vendor sent me the wrong parts needed for my LS swap/t56. No big deal, but the vendor picked all the parts out and when I sent it all back I had to pay for restocking fee's $60.
Hurst also gives great tech support!!!

Mine just arrived from American Powertrain yesterday. My understanding is they just got a bunch in from Tremec and shipped them out to their customers and any of their dealers customers.

Angry Still no parts

So out of my 7g worth of parts ordered I have received 1200.00 3months later, I called idiot and they have no colum on order From my supplier. I also called another trans company and they have t56 trannys in stock hmm, I went to bank to try to get money back. Then I will reorder from them. It doesn't make **** for difference how good of a deal you get on parts if you font get the stuff in a reasonable amount of time. 3 months on the 19 of June is not reasonable. I don't care If your employee is needs to go to spin cycle, or you have to go to auction, blaa blaa blaa, if you can't communicate with your customers do something else.

I can imagine your pain. I had a bad experience this with American Powertrain but at least they (Paul) is working with me on the issue. I work as an sales operations manager and know how critical communication to customers is so I find it crazy that many suppliers don't understand this. I ordered a T56 from American on 5/18 after being advised they were getting a large shipment of Magnums the next week. I was told before the purchase one was mine. 2 weeks went by with no shipment so I had to basically harass Josh and Paul to get the shipment out. After I told them I would help them out with their backorder issue by letting them refund me and I would go to summit (4 were in stock 2 hours from me) I magically had a tracking notice the next day. The main excuse for the delay and lack of information was that Josh (shipping manager) was on the Powertour and not in the shop so they did not know how to get updates ..... I would have loved to go to the Powertour but I didn't have a transmission......

It did finally ship and I received the trans on Thursday as the UPS tracking advised it would. Too bad I was never told the bellhousing was not on the same shipment and that the shifter adapter was backordered until July 1. A little communication here would have gone a very long way. I was planning to install this weekend and even cut a trip to San Diego short to make time for the install. I also purchased a track day for June 30 thinking the trans would be installed this weekend but now I can't make it. I have no idea when it will be complete because I have no info on the bellhousing drop ship and the shifter will be too late. It's very frustrating

I'm not trying to hijack your thread but it seemed an appropriate place to add my personal experience with my T56 purchase

My kit did not come complete as in a pallet with everything strapped to it, it came in multiple shipments and some items were dropshipped but it was all here within a week of eachother and ahead of the original quoted delivery date.

I originally expected it all in one shipment but I am not dissapointed in how it worked out. They delivered the product I purchased ahead of schedule and the logistics are really up to them. As long as I was kept informed I am satisfied. I believe communication is key and sympathize with those that don't receive it.

My experience with American Powertrain has been favorable and I will continue to recommend them when I have the chance.

I wanted to update everyone on the status of my order. Yesterday additional items (bellhousing, shifter ball, shifter offset) were delivered and I was very happy. I went to install the trans last night and realized the throwout bearing retainer was not supplied with the shipments. I called American and the person I spoke with mentioned that I never purchased the retainer even though Paul was clear it was part of the order. This person did imediately mention (before I could complain) that the retainer would be sent to me today at no charge since the mistake was not mine. Once again I am waiting on UPS to deliver the additional part. Too bad I found out they shipped it by ground and it will be a week before I get the part.... As of now I am still frustrated with the communication from American Powertrain regarding the status of shipments and overall completeness of my order. It appears they do try to react when there is an issue brought to their attention but they are not proactive in the least.

Steve
