Default Motor mounts 67 Camaro w/ L76 and 6l80

I am going to ask a lot of question over the next few weeks, so please bare with me. This my first Lsx conversion, so I have a lot to learn. I should get my frame back from powder coating in a couple of days and want to start lining everything up.
I am using a L76 and 6L80 trans from a 2009 G8 with 47,000 miles. I am using my stock frame with tubular a arms, coil overs, and 2 inch drop spindles.

From what I've read so far it seems that you have to use an adapter plate under the motor mounts to set the engine further back. Is that correct? I also read somewhere that there are some motor mounts that will allow you to use the stock A/C compressor without notching the frame. Is that right?

What mounts would you recommend?

Any help is very appreciated
Thanks

If you are using the stock subframe, you will definately need to use adapter plates as the new motor will not directly bolt to the older style motor mounts. 99% sure if you are going to run the 6L80 tranny you will have to cut the tunnel in your car and part of the firewall as that transmission is huge and very tall for a 67 Camaro which will impact where the motor sits. Speedtech makes good motor mounts which will put the LS in the right place, but again the bottom of your firewall and tranny tunnel will need cutting more than likely. Here's the link to the motor mounts you will need...http://www.speedtechperformance.com/...rod/prd214.htm. As far as the frame notching part, you may need to speak directly with speed tech and it also depends on what accessory drive you are running....stock or aftermarket. If you are using aftermarket brackets, you can move all that stuff up top and out of the way.

thanks for info,
I got the frame back today - so I'm going to pull the engine next week and start setting it in the Camaro frame to see how it fits.
I'm going to try not to notch the frame and used the factory LS A/C compressor, but don't know if that will put the pulleys too close to the radiator/fan. Guess I'll find out next week.
