Man, is that cool. Mark, will it somehow be possible to adopt the new Magnetic suspension into one of your upcoming builds?

This put a big smile on my face! Mark will have a little extra swagger around the GM water cooler today.

Thanks guys. I knew the GM Camaro guys would say I was sand bagging if I did not set a good lap time in the ZL-1. The Camaro guys told me the Automobile Mag lap times so I knew the bogie. Once I sorted out the ZL-1's no lift shift I was able just keep the gas pinned and row the gears. The ZL-1 is a great track car. The guys shooting the video drove the car over from Detroit then drove it back home at the end of the day.

I did my personal best in Red Devil at Gingerman to beat it. I would also like to thank, Jason (The new owner of Red Devil) to allow me to take it the track and beat on it. I gave him a ride in "his" car and he was blow away. We just beat on both cars then put them away.

It was a great day.

Mark

Wow, that is impressive. I assume those lap times were on the long course? I just looked back at last years MotorState Challenge time(this year was on the short course) and Danny Popp's best time in the Vette was 1.40.5. A 1.39.5 is killer. The 1.42.x in the ZL1 would have been good for the second best lap time at the 2011 MotorState Challenge. Not bad for a bone stock car with a 100k powertrain warranty.

Congratulations Mark on setting incredible times in both cars. You definitley were pushing yourself hard and made this a very fair challenge. Nice job!

A 67... but I'm still hoping Mark will do a 70-73 one day soon!

What a great video. A testament to the cars themselves and Mark's ability as a driver. Most people aren't going to sniff those times or even close.

And Red Devil has to be the best sounding LS motor I've ever heard online... the combo of the blower and exhaust is on the money.
