Here is a short list, new valve covers, new oil baffles, new breather parts, new valve guides and seals, and finally all new pistons and rings. Before he got to the pistons and rings he contacted a lemon law lawyer and got a settlement. He did not get a new truck because he did not report the issue soon enough. My advise is get it to the garage and get on record asap. They did the pistons and rings while his case was in progress. This seems to have mostly solved the issue. I can not tell how much of a pain it was to deal with. His truck is an 07 and he just got finished with the issue last summer. 4 Years! Good Luck!

What ever dealer u brought it to sucks. There was a bulletin in early '08 to replace the pistons and rings. I remember having a few discussions w/ gm engineering on getting this resolved. In early '08 we had string of trucks come in at least once a week with varing degrees of oil consumption.
