Default Off the shelf wheels over ls brakes on a 69 camaro?

Hey guys, what wheels will fit off the shelf on a 69 camaro with ls brakes on all four points? I want either a 18x18 10 inch wide in the rear or a 19x20 or 21. All will be 10 inch wide in the rear. I have the boss 338 in mind but I want to see all my options. I DO NOT want spacers of any kind. I guess adapters maybe but wanna stay away from those things. Thanks in advance guys for the help.

Brake vs wheel fitment is hard to say for sure if you haven't done the exact setup you're asking about. LS brakes? LS is an engine designation, so I'm not sure what brakes you're speaking of. I do know the standard 13" rotor with a late model Vette caliper (non-Z06) fit without spacers on 17" and 18" wheels on my last car. These calipers are like the standard Baer brake stuff many run.

Wheels also have many differences on the back side, but in general I'd think most 18" and larger diameter wheels would clear the later model Vette (non Z06) and F body brakes, but the only way to know for sure is to test fit them or check with the wheel manufacturer to see if they have specific info on your combo.

Thanks for the insight, I meant gen 4 f body brakes. I thought that would be specific enough but I do understand if I may have confused someone. I guess thats a good answer, they should fit on most 18" and up rims with no spacers. I and not really concerned with the corvette brakes, I have the camaro calipers and brakes and those are the ones I had questions on. I appreciate your help, I will be sure to do some research but its hard because with it being a non stock combination I am certain most wheel companies will say the are not sure if it will fit. I cant test fit without buying the wheels either, and if I just install the brakes my car will be stuck on jack stands if whatever wheels I get dont work. Thats why I was hoping to get some sure fire combos that will work. If they are similar in size to the Baer stuff it should work with no issue. I will post update when I have something to report.

Don't be afraid to run adapters. They are plenty strong enough for anything you're going to do. I would not use spacers though.

One thing that might help is to print out a fitment template and then hit up a junk yard and go through the rims they have. 18" rims are common enough now that you should be able to find something you like. You might be able to find a template on various vendor's websites that offer the F-body brakes. I know Kore3 has one for the C5/6 brakes. I'm not sure about the Fbody brakes though.

Tracy would spacers allow me to run an even larger brake caliper safely?

98-02 LS1 F-body brakes fit inside most off the shelf 17" and larger wheels...and some 16's, but 16" tire selection is poor and it sounds like you intend to go larger anyway, not smaller. The rear brakes don't tend to be an issue and the front brakes run a substantially smaller diameter and deeper offset rotor than a comparable C5/C6 kit, so even the most problematic wheels with respect to brake fitment (A/R TTII's) fit.

You shouldn't have any issues with the Boss wheels, 338, 225, or otherwise.

Larger diameter? No. The purpose of the adapters is to adjust the offset of the rim or, as in my case, correct the bolt pattern to match the rim to the car. I went from standard to metric with my adapters.

Yes, if you mean a wider caliper. It may even allow for a larger diameter if it moves the caliper into a larger diameter portion of the wheel, however that will vary with wheel and caliper design.

Wheel adapters and/or spacers effectively increase the mounting pad thickness of the wheel (effectively reducing the backspacing by the adapter/spacer thickness), increasing the amount of axial space for calipers. This can be significant when running large fixed mount calipers like those found on the C6 Z06 Corvette applications with relatively shallow rotors which result in larger caliper overhang dimensions.
