I had to go back - like a moth to a flame - to look over the orange Camaro in the OP...


There's just so many things to find fault with... the entire car is just disjointed. The "stock" console that was modified to have a waterfall from the dash -- the stock shifter --- in a custom dash... I don't know what they were thinking when the dash was done... or what the "theme" was -- but then you see the steering wheel -- and it doesn't go with anything else... so there's stock -- then a bunch of rocker launchers - and a wheel from who knows what look...

Then -- all the metal work in the engine compartment --- and some dumb SOB decides to zip tie the fuel lines? Really? OMG... and they should have been hard lines... and at least index the fittings correctly so the lines aren't twisted...


Then the rear end has modern looking exhaust and a rear diffuser like a race car yet the interior is pure "show car" and not race car at all...

The car just has no consistent design element. Someone got a bunch of nice parts --- all put together in a jumbled up mess.

I thought the orange car would have brought a lot more money. After seeing it only bring 85K I am glad I didn't risk bringing mine. I would have to look again at that orange Camaro but I don't think it has a back seat at all. Which may or may not ever be used but if it doesn't have one well then your just SOL if you want to ride more than 2 people in the car. I think sometimes that hurts the sale a lot.

That is an excellent point I hadn't even thought about. We've all heard and cast stereotypes about guys buying muscle cars to relive the glory days or because they wished they'd had one in high school, well, I if that's the case what good is a Camaro without a back seat?

You guys are reading way.way...too much into this. You have to be at Barrett-Jackson to understand it. It is a huge party where people spend money. 99% of them have no idea there is no backseat because they have been no closer to the car than where they are sitting. A black Cadillac with it's roof cut off sold for I think 160K and the guy was hoping to get 40K. I'm sure alot of cars are just bought because from the seats in the audience it looks great.

Matt - for that demograpic the glory days were in the backseat
