Just for general information, you can get an MGW-P shifter from here that's already modified for the GTO:

Darned expensive though. It's cheaper just to get the shifter cup if you want to go that way. I found that part for under $60 so my MGW, going onto my GTO transmission cost me $250 (5% forum discount). I was worried in might be a PITA to change the shifter cup but it literally took 5 minutes.
