Default Event support

The event was incredible! I do agree we need to show more support, not many spectators at all. I am planing on participating if they bring it back to Daytona.

I'm not sure what it would take to get more participants to these events. It may be expensive to sign up initially but it is absolutely worth the money for the amount of track time you get. Hopefully spreading the good word about how much track time is actually available will help.

I was blown away with how many runs one could make on the speed stop and Autocross course. Both the car and the driver will be wore plumb out before the time expires...and then after lunch you get a whole 'nuther session at both. To enter one of these events you better have your stuff ready to run and run a LOT.

One thing I think that would help attendance and not be too intrusive would be to allow ridealongs on the autocross and speed stop portions. There isn't that much for the family and friends of the entrants to do once they've watched everyone make 20 or 30 runs at each.

I went yesterday and it was great. I will admit I was surprised how few spectators were present and even the accommodations for spectators could use some work......but that will come. As for how to get people out to the event......maybe partner with the local car dealers and get them to advertise? Maybe they would even offer to cover ride-alongs for potential buyers in their cars? Once it gets bigger, you back away from that. In addition, there was little to no advertising in the area or thru the local car clubs. If you got a couple of clubs to support the cause with a cruise and a car show, you would start to generate buzz. I think the potential to be big is there.....just have to get people out to see it. I rode with Kyle at Kissimmee and I was hooked.

What I just can't understand is there is plenty of advance notice -- and on here and "that other place" -- there are all these guys that profess to want to build or own big time "pro touring" cars... they have the big horsepower - the big brakes - every expensive part known to man....

FOR WHAT? To go sit at a car show in a chair all day? REALLY?

Here's an opportunity for people to drive on some of the greatest tracks in the USA... WHO CARES IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE --- WHO CARES IF IT'S YOUR FIRST TIME... WHO CARES THAT YOU HAVE ZERO CHANCE TO WIN ANYTHING... OMG!!

Hanging out with experienced people that are there to help -- talking to the supporting vendors that are there to support you -- just F'n BEING THERE.... And don't tell me it's the COST! You bungholes spend 5K on wheels - and 6K on brakes... for what? 'Cause they're pretty? GO USE 'EM!!

IF YOU'RE DEAD FRIGGIN LAST SO WHAT. Everybody -- and I mean EVERYBODY started somewhere. Ya think Kyle popped out and jumped in a car and drove? He started out - Maier started out - Tim started out SOMEWHERE. They have FREE instructors for gawds sake! If ya did nothing for the whole weekend but rode around with them you'd have had the time of your life!

Seriously - you guys are blowing it big time.

Off my stand.... but I'm seriously disappointed in the community for not "getting it".

Dan Howe with the wrangler Monte Carlo told me a story that explains how he feels about the events, in the drivers meeting on Sunday he raised his hand and asked if he could sign up for next year's event at Daytona... right now...

And he traveled halfway across the country to get there and drive his garage built car on the high banks of Daytona.

Default So true,,,

I was talked into doin an autocross run, I didn't even plan on it, just content with being a spectator. I did it and in my mind I won! I made a vow to run my car at every Florida event. I learned alot from Daytona as a spectator and next time I am gonna be a participant.
