No - 4 bolt heads - LS7 block / CNC LS9 heads (I think we are near or at the limit for 4-bolt)
Very impressive numbers for a "messaged" 2.3L blower. Is the inlet and outlet for the intercooler bigger than stock? Keeping 1K HP cool must need help...
Gotta love that torque curve. I can see why you are saying you need to get the chassis sorted out. You should be able to put power down anywhere that you can maintain traction. Will make the AutoX and Speed/Stop more interesting.
Time frame on when you'll be able to start your tuning?
I made a lot of progress over the weekend. I got all the parts back to assemble the rear axle. It has a C&R Racing Remmed gears that was run in at C&R axle dyno to make sure the frictional loses are good and it is quite. The housing is a steel Strange Engineer part so I could install the diff cooler. All the Detroit Speed brackets are welded on it. The axle ends are my design that uses the SKF bearing, production C-6 park brake and all C-6 Corvette mounting interfaces. The axle ends are dry due to a GM axle seal in the end of the axle tube in the tube end. The axle shafts are 300 M material that are gun drilled to save a little mass. I was also able to design a park brake cable that interfaces to a '69 Camaro so you can use the stock '69 Camaro park brake system.
I also hammed out all the brake lines for the ABS system over the last week. Just for referance these brake lines took me a full week to make and I've done this twice before. 40 feet of brake lines. But doing it with out the front clip is a huge time saver.
From the looks of the 4 gear truetrac, you must be using 31 splines at the diff end of the axle. Even then, it looks like the axle shafts are necked down below the minor diameter of the splines.
Majority opinion says that with the power your motor makes, that you would need 35 spline axles. Does the lack of bending load from the "floater" setup, make that much difference? I guess if you never plan to run a drag slick, the tire is the breaking point. Just wondering why 31 spline, what is the reasoning behind that choice? Does the corvette bearing limit it? Is 300M worth that much? I just went through this with my car (simlar power) and ended up with 35 spline axles and truetrac.
