I appreciate the response, Carl. I looked at it some more and it's going to have to wait until I pull the trans before I can even begin to do this. So plenty of time to consider if this is indeed worth the effort.

Def incorporate a cushion mount and leave the rubber trans mount

Cushion mount? My initial thoughts are to weld a continuous brace to the subframe and the floor and have a section that bolts to it that has the rubber mount to hold the transmission. Basically how DSE does or did their mounts.
