I would be worried that shortening the control arms 2" would affect the geometry and performance. Wouldn't you need shorter axles too.

I flared my trans am a little and like that route better. I actually just took all the measurements for my rear axle. My body is almost 74" wide now and because im running 8"bs corvette wheels i need 65" WMS to WMS.

What flares did you use? Wider's better for racing

I've had those thoughts as well. I want 1" a side. All the DSE arms I bought have at least that adjustment in them. Going from 64.1" to 63" would be grand.

If I need axles, it won't make me cry, as I can go with Vette hubs, match the front bolt pattern and have common hubs on all four corners.

That said, most of the suspension geeks I am talking with think we should just cut 2-4" out of the cradle, leaving all the suspension points where they are. It would also center the rear diff. The DSE stuff I have is more adjustable, stronger and lighter, which still works for me.

I would not mind flares and staying 64.1" with a 12" wide rim, 4" lip if I can swing it.

How about this?

chop the existing arm, modify the pocket to fit the upright, redrill the upper mounting hole and remount.
