Loved my glasspacks when I was 16-21... My buddy and I both had early 80's Monte Carlos with dual side exhaust. Mine had a 327, his had a 454. We raced around this tiny little Iowa farm town at who knows what time at night. Then we got the hell out of dodge.

I meant MagnaFlow when I hastily said masterflow.

My car-related youth was around 5.0 Mustangs. A B303 cam with 2 chamber Flowmasters is music to my ears. My DZ302 had a Flowmaster exhaust but the new motor will have Magnaflow. I hope I like it. I still like my old set up with the Flowmaster mechanical/marbles-in-a-can sound:

Default Nedreck exhausts

A lot of those guys install the glasspacks either backwards, or will get em hot, and then spray water in there to blow out the packing..resulting in that god awful popping.

Notice he said both were straight piped..i'm guessing he meant no cats, since the second truck had "mufflers", which would negate being straight-piped

Funny thing about modern V8's: they need backpressure, so they don't lose all their torque and/or burn a valve or two

I've always been partial to Round mufflers for a smoother sound..have a 2.5" Aero Turbine on my Tundra, and it's very smooth...I run a 3" Apexi N1 on my turbo car, and it's not horrible either..despite how craddy my engine sounds NA
